Vacation is always exciting. Many people plan everything with attention to a detail, but some just let it flow… I am kind of in between, I like to know what I’d like to see, visit and eat, but now really plan to a minute. As I have previously visited Hong Kong before, I have done most of the traditional attractions, however, as for this trip, I would like to focus on some more exploring.
That is why this time I am going for my Hong Kong trip with my bucket list.
Junk boat trip
Many say it is not a common touristic thing to do but very popular among locals. Therefore, we taking up this trip. Like this we can visit some deserted islands, swim in clearer water and just enjoy the views of Hong Kong.
Ma Wan Ghost Town and Yim Tin Tsai
Both of the areas are abandoned towns where not that long ago people still used to live. It is apparently fascinating to see a place like that. As I only have 9 days for my entire trip, I will probably manage to visit only one.
Man Cheung Po Waterfall Day on a Lantau Island or Ng Tung Chai Waterfall
My last attempt of visiting a waterfall was in Indonesia and it failed badly. After climbing up in the search of waterfall, I found out it dried out. This time, I am making it to the working waterfall and swimming there.
Hike Dragon’s Back / Tai Long Wai / Monkey Mountain / Lion Rock
Hiking is a big thing in Hong Kong. To see the best views, make my WeRun record unbeatable and just enjoy the atmosphere and fresh air (that we miss in Beijing), hiking is a great option. Plus, I just love walking around.
Secret Islands – Castaway
There are many “secret islands” in Hong Kong. The most interesting of them are Tung Ping Chou; Middle Island, Tap Mun & Kat O; Yim Tin Tsai. My goal would be to see as much as I can and take as many pictures as I can to share on Oh My Simple Life or my Instagram (@oxy_in_china).
Visit Happy Valley
I am not a fan of gambling. Actually I am too much of a fan, therefore, I should avoid gambling for all reasons, but when you are in Hong Kong, apparently skipping Happy Valley is not an option. Just bet on the lucky horse and maybe you can go for a Michelin star restaurant dinner…
Visit night market
Well, I do leave in China and it doesn’t seem to make sense to visit a market. But night market is a whole different story. I think it is a must do, not even for shopping but more for the culture.
Visit Michelin star food stall
And finally my favourite part – eating. Last time I had great Hong Kong dining experience with dim sum and local soups. This time I want to go beyond and I think I must visit Michelin Star restaurant as they are just food stalls with local food. Impressive, right?
Part of my trip is going to be visiting Macau, I am now working on my To-Do-Macau and share with you soon. I am so excited about this trip! Can’t wait to share my impressions!
